We’re new. That’s why the first one’s free.
Bench Depth is a recruiting firm for blue-collar companies — construction first, plus manufacturing, trucking, facilities, and utilities. We fill the salaried seats that run the work.
You won’t find client logos on this page, or a testimonial from a general contractor you’ve never heard of.
We don’t have any yet. When we have clients who’ll put their name to the work, they’ll be here — with numbers, and with their permission. Not before.
Every recruiting firm’s website says the same things about itself. We’d rather show you the terms and let you check them.
Founding terms, and the reasoning behind them.
Three spots. First come. Founding clients pay nothing until their first hire signs an offer letter. Not a discount, not a trial with a card on file — nothing, until somebody signs.
Here’s what we get. At that first signature, three things come due, and they’re in the contract: a written case study with real numbers, your name as a reference we can give out, and two introductions to other people who run companies like yours.
That’s the whole trade. We’re buying proof, and we’re buying it with our own time instead of your money. A firm with no track record shouldn’t ask you to take the risk on one.
Then the door closes. When the third company signs, the free entry goes away, and we’ll say so publicly on this page.
We check things. A lot of what goes wrong in a hire was findable beforehand. So we find it — the jobs they really ran, the size of them, references from the people who were on those jobs. It’s slow and it’s the whole point.
We work under your name. Candidates in these trades answer their phone for a company they’ve heard of, not for a recruiter. So the outreach comes from you. We’re behind it.
We hand you the pipeline. The file of people we’ve found for your roles is yours from day one. Firms that hold that file hostage are selling you dependence. We’d rather earn the next month.
We say no. If you hire two people a year, a headhunter is cheaper and we’ll tell you so on the first call.
Launch metros: Northern Virginia, Charlotte, and Raleigh. Construction is the spearhead — it’s where the hiring is heaviest and where we started — and the same process runs for manufacturing, trucking, facilities, and utilities.
Eastern hours. This is phone work; the biggest search firms in these industries have run everything by phone for decades. Your candidates and your interviews are local to you.
Who’s behind this
No bio here yet. The founder’s name and track record go here once they’re confirmed — same rule as the logos.
